Where is the Hedgehog Club at Deer Park Wood?

Deer Park Wood is between Deer Park Road and Range Road in West Witney.

We will be at the Outside Classroom.

The green area on this map is Deer Park Wood.

If you are lost call Mandy on 07767078876 for directions.

Arriving by foot

There are 3 entrances – 1 from Range Road, 1 from De Havilland Way and 1 on Deer Park Road, opposite Valance Crescent.

Arriving by car

Park in De Havilland Way, OX29 0YG.

Coming from the Curbridge Roundabout follow the signs to Burford. At traffic lights turn left onto Range Road. First right is De Havilland Way.

Coming from Burford Road, turn at the traffic lights down Deer Park Road. At next traffic lights turn right into Range Road. Take the first right into De Havilland Way.

There are a number of industrial units here but we can park on the road opposite them. Park as near the top of De Havilland Way as you can. The tarmacked footpath into the woods is on the right just before the last warehouse along the metal fence. At the end of the path go up the steps and through the trees to come out in a clear area. Turn right here and walk a few metres to the Outside Classroom to find us.

What do I need to bring?

We will have hot chocolate, home-made biscuits, tea and coffee for the adults. Please bring any other drinks and snacks that you want to have.  Bring spare clothing in case of accidents, plastic bags for wet stuff on the way home! Drinking water will be available.

Toilets

There are no toilets at Deer Park Wood so we can use the trees or bring a portable potty

Will a session ever be cancelled?

The sessions will take place whatever the weather- so please dress appropriately. The only time the session will be cancelled will be in high winds or unforeseeable circumstances. Please see terms and conditions for refund conditions. Please make sure I have up to date contact numbers in case of cancellation.

What do we wear?

Please dress for the weather conditions. Warm in winter and cool in summer- but with arms/legs and feet covered for protection. I want everyone to enjoy the sessions fully so please come prepared as cold/hot/wet children cannot enjoy themselves to the full. (Please see Clothing Policy on this website.)

What people say about Hedgehog Club birthday parties..

Fabulous birthday party for my daughters' 7th birthday. Butterfly hunting, leaf and wildflower pattern bags, campfires and marshmallows, den building, bug hunts, games and general running around having fun. Can’t recommend a Hedgehog party enough, 13 children kept fully occupied and the grownups got to join in too. In the words of my daughter " I don’t want to go to bed because I don’t want this day to end."
