The Hedgehog Club- Forest School for preschool children- babies to 4 years old.

What is it?

The Hedgehog Club is based on the principles of Forest School where the children learn by playing and exploring their natural environment. This approach helps children become more independent and develops their social and physical skills. The activities are led by what the children are interested in and are not directed by the adults. By signing up to a term at a time you are allowing your children to build on their learning from week to week. They will gain confidence in the surroundings and develop a relationship with the natural world.  For more information about Forest School and the benefits to children, please see

What will they do?

Your child will be able to explore the woodland, looking for bugs, playing in the mud, collecting sticks and other natural materials. Each week there will be a theme with related activities, which your child can choose to take part in. There will also be related craft activities. There will be a campfire with snacks to share, drinks and homemade biscuits provided.
