FAQs Holiday sessions

How old does my child have to be?

For the all day drop off sessions children need to be 5 to 12 year olds.

What should your child expect on an activity day?

The days are an opportunity for your children to explore the woods, learn some new skills and make some new friends. There are activities on offer for them to try or not if they have other ideas of what they want to do. We are on hand to help them make their ideas work- whatever it maybe. The ethos of forest school is that the sessions are led by the interests of the children.

What do they need to bring with them?

They will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle. Depending on the season warm clothes, sun hats and sun cream, changes of socks, insect repellant.

Hot drinks, homemade biscuits and marshmallows to toast are always available.

Where do they take place?

The activity days take place at Hailey Community Wood (Breach Wood) in Delly End near Witney. This is a millennium wood with lots of trees and wild spots to explore and build dens in.

Are there any toilets?

There are no toilets in the wood but we have a camping toilet for everyone to use. We also have plenty of trees to use for a ‘wild wee.’

Are the sessions ever cancelled?

The sessions will go ahead in all weathers. The only time they will be cancelled is if high winds are forecast or other unforeseen circumstances. If we have to cancel you will be notified and refunds will be made for the session.

If you are booked and cannot attend the session, please let me know at least 24 hours beforehand to receive a refund, less an admin charge. I am sorry but refunds cannot be given if you cancel less than 24 hours before the session.

You will receive full joining instructions at the time of booking, but should you have any further questions please get in touch. Mandy thehedgehogclub123@gmail.com
